  1. Is the Meade Hall available to hire for private functions?

    Yes it is! We can cater for many different events including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, corporate events, presentation evenings……

  2. What facilities does the Meade Hall have?

    The Meade Hall has a fully stocked bar, separate washrooms, ample floor space, private entrance, picturesque patio, open fire, PA system with iPod dock, Projector and screen, fully air-conditioned and heated.

  3. Can I have an extended licence for my function?

    Yes, until 12 midnight for an extra charge of £200

  4. Do you do weddings?

    We absolutely do, yes!  We love a good wedding!  Meade Hall makes a perfect venue in all seasons.

  6. How much does it cost to hire?

    Currently hire charges are £300 Sunday to Friday and £500 on a Saturday

  7. What is included in the hire charge?

    Included in the hire charge is the full use of the Meade Hall and patio outside, patio heaters, furniture, crockery, glassware, candles, projector and PA system, along with a dedicated event co-ordinator.

  8. How many people can it seat for a meal?

    Comfortably up to 100, depending on table arrangements

  9. How many people can it hold for a buffet?

    For more casual dining, such as buffets and BBQ’s, the Meade Hall can cater for up to 130. By using outside spaces we can cater for over 200

  11. What is the price range of your menus?

    Wedding menus start at £35 per person and we have a wide range of other function menus. For full details, please see our menu section on The Crown & Cushion’s webpage.

    Food must be provided by The Crown & Cushion, with the exception of celebration cakes

    Let us know what the requirements are and we will do all we can to ensure they are met

    You can provide your own wine, with corkage rates at £10 for still and £15 for sparkling wine per bottle

  16. Can we provide our own DJ or band?

    We have an experienced and popular DJ that we can recommend but you can provide your own DJ or band if you prefer. We would require proof of their Public Liability Insurance and for them to visit us before the event

  18. What time is the bar licensed until?

    The bar is licensed until 11pm but an extension may be possible for an additional charge.

  19. What sort of decoration do you allow?

    We love decorations! The more the merrier to tie in with your theme, however, they must comply with our Health and Safety Policy, eg. only as high as the first rafters

  20. Is there possible use of the Cricket Ground adjacent to the Meade Hall?

    There is possible use of the cricket ground, subject to availability. Enquiries can be made on your behalf. The cricket club usually request a donation for use of their ground

  21. What deposit do you require?

    To confirm a booking, we require the room hire paid in advance. Please note that all quotes are valid for 7 days, after which if no deposit is paid, the venue will be made available for other bookings. Also, in the case of a cancellation, the room hire fee is non-refundable.

    The earlier the better to secure this popular venue!

  23. If I have to cancel, what happens to my room hire payment?

    Unfortunately room hire deposits are non-refundable.

    There is ample parking for cars, with an option of overflow parking for larger events

    Not in The Meade Hall but there are accessible disabled facilities available in the main pub.
